# Testing on a demo account

Was there a write up somewhere on the steps one could take to subscribe to strategies and have them hooked up to a demo account for testing for a few months before going live with real money?

Hi Shaun,  
  
Isn’t it just a matter of opening a demo account with a broker and then putting in the account number of that demo account into the auto-trade settings?  
  
  
  
I have not set up auto trade with a demo account (only my live account) but if you search these forums you will see that others do seem to have successfully auto traded demo accounts. Press **Search** above, enter “ **demo account** ” and select “ **All terms** ”.

The C2 wizard is a good start.  
  
  
  
Don’t forget, demo accounts like the one from FXCM allows only 2 weeks of evaluation time… needless to say that is way too short even for the fastest trading systems here.
