Why when mining the C2STATS is there such a mismatch between the AnnReturn figures and that given on the strategy home page ??
For example here’s 9 strategies from C2STATS:
And here’s the home page returns for each:
Just Forex: 71%
Smart Vol IRA: 54%
SMart Bull: 42%
Vol Trader: 171%
COREX: 50%
JFT: 71%
Diamond 4x: 93%
TSA: 72%
Quantec VXS. 56%
I don’t really see what the relationship is …
Other number seem to line up ok.
There are two Annual Returns there.
Hi, Chris:
I agree this is not clear or well-documented. The issue is that C2 is required to show return % with costs included. So when you go to the strategy page, you are seeing the raw annual return… minus commission costs… minus monthly strategy subscription costs, as per NFA requirements. (We apply these costs to the “raw” stat stored in our database.)
Further, the return % itself is not always the same, because the NFA has a regulation that states that the return % must be annualized when a strategy is more than 12 months old, but must be cumulative when a strategy is less than 12.
So I will work with Bohuslav to make these cost-including-stats available in Explorer, in addition to the raw math stat.
Finally, the subscriber numbers you are looking at are bunk because they include simulators who don’t pay. As you know, C2’s position (currently, but this might change) is that we don’t release subscriber numbers for strategies.
So I will remove the useless “numSubs” stats from view for now, until we change this policy.
More updates shortly, as we implement the fixes discussed here.
Many thanks Matt, your work (and Bohuslavs) much appreciated.
re numSubs: that explains a lot then!
(I’m sure I’m not the only one who like to see you have the real data in C2E but not on the website)
Cheers much
@MatthewKlein Is there a way to get the annualized return percentage (factoring in commission and strategy costs) from C2STATS?
