I am planning two changes to Patience is a Virtue.
- TVIX has been an item I purchase in some rare scenarios when the markets are looking very tumultuous. However, I am evaluating if I should keep it as an option for the algorithm. I know that the timing when I trade it is extremely crucial, but I know that some friends and family copy my trades manually. I want to do what I can to prevent them from getting burned. Therefore, I will likely only trade TVIX in my private accounts away from C2 and replace it in the strategy with things like cash, gold, government bonds, and Bitcoin.
EDIT: As of right now I am keeping TVIX as an option for the algorithm. However, for accounts that I manually trade I do not trade it because the timing is so crucial.
- I have several accounts of my own and of loved ones that want to copy this strategy. However, for most people including myself I don’t want to open two of every account just so that I can do auto trading and hold some standard funds. C2 allows autotraders to manually adjust the size of any position they are auto trading, but C2 won’t let them create entirely new positions. Therefore, I will likely buy one share of several standard ETFs like VTI, TLT, and GLD. If I have just one share of those ETFs in the Patience is a Virtue then any autotrader can adjust the size of their own VTI, TLT, and GLD position. This set up will allow me and my family to have the right amount of conservative and aggressive trades in each account without having to open multiple Interactive Brokers accounts.
