C2 score?

I joined C2 about 2 years ago but never submitted a trading system. I built up a C2 score of about 900 (by doing nothing) until just last week when I submitted my first system and my score dropped to about 300. How does C2 know that my new system is so bad that my C2 score must be reduced by 600 points?

The question isn’y why - once you submitted a new, unproven system - you had a 300 C2 Score; the question is why you ever had a 900 C2 Score if you never submitted a trading system. I’ll need to look into this, but - in theory - people who never submit systems should not be scored.

[LINKSYSTEM_55133113] system score went from 400 approx 2 days ago, then up to 965 yesterday, then down to 400 approx again today. big moves for 1 trade!

I now remember I did open a system 2 years ago then forgot about it and never entered any trades and I got a score of 900 because it never lost any money over a long time. Then I changed its name, deleted any previous history, and switched it to a live system and started to enter trades and my score dropped to 300.

In my experience, the C2 score is pretty volatile until a substantial trade record is established. In the first six months I had systems on C2, my score would, routinely whip back and forth from the 300s to the 600s. It even got into the 900s a couple of times. It wasn’t until about six months ago that it, finally, settled into the upper end of the 900s.

My guess is that the equations used to come up with the C2 score are pretty sensitive to small changes in data input when the data record is short.

I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the score until you have at least one system with more than a year of trading history. (Some people don’t pay much attention to the score, at all.)

[LINKSYSTEM_55133113] now moved again from 400 approx to 947 overnight. lol

Maybe it goes down 500 every time you post?

[LINKSYSTEM_55133113] just had a winning trade, no drawdown, and the score has moved down from 947 to 434!

My system first trading day, up 18%, and my score went from 335 to 329.

[LINKSYSTEM_55133113] jumped from 434 to 948 overnight this time and no trade lol.

Matthew, in all seriousness, I have used many different system fitness functions over the years, if you would like some input into how to make the c2 score more meaningful and worth something (you still have systems that have gone bankrupt and still scored over 900) I would be willing to contribute.
