Thnx! I’ll revisit the topic possibly in the future. For now I’ll just stick with MT4 for C2. Also I obtained an Alpari login and see even they ONLY offer MT5 hedging accounts these days. I think MT5 ‘netting’ accounts are becoming obsolete. Almost no popular broker offers ‘netting’ accounts. C2 should possibly remove that limitation in the future from MT5 PT.
Thank you for your feedback! While it may seem like a simple limitation to remove, the issue is technically more complex and requires significant development work. We have added your suggestion to our roadmap for future consideration.
Hi Lorant,
is that development activity focused on MT5, or are you also doing an upgrade to MT4 copier functionality?
It appears that the currently downloadable C2PlatformTransmit is identical to the one from 2020. That’s a long time for integration software to remain static. MT4 has undergone 17 major build releases in that timeframe so there would be many enhancements/optimizations not being exploited by the current C2Platform transmit .exe and .dll, not to mention risk of possible deprecated features.
The Metaquotes API has really evolved fast over the last couple of years evidenced by the number of recently launched cloud-based trade copying products utilizing the new features. They are not competitive products to C2, don’t display strategy managers, simply just offer the ability to copy from a source account using its investor password to your target account using your master password. You can also copy from an MT4 source account to an MT5 target account and vice versa, control FIFO/Netting, etc
It’s thinking outside the box, but could they be a possible stop-gap until your new development enhancements are tested and released?
After thinking about it I understand WHY the rest of the world moved onward. ‘Netting’ was ONLY to comply with USA regulations. Most brokers updated their software for netting/hedging before realizing that the requirements to offer FX trading in the USA were too stiff (which is why you can count USA FX brokers on ONE hand and nobody outside of the USA allows USA clients to trade with them). I guess we’ve reached the point where they’re removing the ‘nobody wanted’ netting feature from their platforms. The only ‘netting’ brokers will be USA brokers and only Forex.com offers MT5 (Sheeeesh it SUX to be a USA FX trader…).
As far as C2 I’ll just stick with the MT4 PT version. It uses about half the memory of the MT5 version on my VPS So I’ll keep using it. I rarely touch my VPS and was gonna MT5 all my systems when I first brought this up since I’m only using MT4 to pass trades to C2. But for now C2 will just be my MT4 outlier.
