I’m having serious concerns about the posting API reliability. Before I post trades I query the balance of my account so I can calculate the appropriate lot sizes. Quite often this call fails, and thus my EA is unable to post a trade. I really need this system to be 100% reliable as my main motive is to to have an independent record of my trading history.

What is the exact API call you are using (no password please).
You say “quite often” your API call “fails.” Please name a few specific times this recently happened (Eastern US time) and what failure means. No response? A timeout? An explicit error?

Yes understand. I will put some more diagnostic in to the code, and give you more specific details next time it happens. Sorry if I seemed a be short, I was having a bad day 
As a matter of interest the general posting issue seems to be resolved now
