Blinking icon for new forum posts?

Hi,
It looks like there is a blinking icon on the dashboard for new forum posts but no way to turn it off. This creates a needless distraction which seems to require you check the forum to stop the blinking. Am I missing something?

It means you haven’t read all the “new” forum posts. Go back into Forum and click on every link marked “new”, and sooner or later the blinking thing will go away!

Yes, and also, based on your feedback, I have made the forum icon stop blinking after 3 quick blinks when a new message is posted.
