I can’t find the settings to get SMS alerts on a cellphone anymore. Please, explain again how exactly it does work.

Log in to your C2 account, click the EDIT MY ACCOUNT link (left-side menu bar), then scroll down to the email options. You can select an alternate email address for signals, and can specify that they be sent in very-short SMS format.
