Futures expiration

Excerpt from C2’s FAQ:

Futures : …we will unceremoniously close out your position, at the market, approximately 48 hrs before the last trading day of the contract. Thus, we strongly encourage you to gracefully exit any positions in expiring contracts at least a week before the last trading day.

2 questions: Is this info still applicable? And does it also count for cash-settled futures?
If yes, then basically no futures contracts can be kept until expiration? (assuming they’re entered through Webtrader of course)
