Strategy Ranking is sooo confusing to me

I am so confused on how the different strategies are ranked, for example this one https://collective2.com/details/150565477 has a drawdown of 88% and cumu return of -62% and is ranked #130, does that seem right?

Hi @MeghanRogers you are on point! this strategy is just destroying capital… whereas this one https://collective2.com/details/150904743 has a rank #157.. completely unfair I would say

Last closed trade 2/27. Open equity has been causing the further drop. C2 rating must consider closed trade only (the visible trading record). This one is “Hold & Hope” at this point. The owner refuses to close the losing trades.

yep, I guess they need to change the ranking system to include open and closed trades. I found a bunch more similar examples that have a high rank and crap performance.

Here is another random one.. https://collective2.com/details/150365009 cumul return -22.6, drawdown 65% yet ranked number 51? It also showed up on the new highs list.. https://collective2.com/new-highs . Can someone enlighten me to the ranking system?

Also the first system is now down -71% and moved up in rank to #129?

Is it true that strategy ranking has nothing to do with the amount of subscribers?

Looks like “150365009” system has a large profitable floating position (hidden) and been closing losers along the way. 65% DD tells you everything you need to know. If THATS not “Hold & Hope” I dont know what is!?

Mathew once wrote that the ranking doesn’t provide useful results for young strategies. However, I don’t know when the results become reliable. I think it’s at least six months.

I think AUM has a lot to do with ranking.

It is my opinion that the average C2 investor only cares about four things :
1- the return on investment
2- the maximum drawdown.
3: the maximum risk per trade
4: the “smoothness” of the equity curve

Sure, some sophisticated investors can look at other metrics as well, but most of them don’t even bother.

DD would be common sense to me. Yet when looking at:

Most popular paid subs, the #1 ranked has 49% DD!
