I created this (simple) Custom Leaderboard that some might find useful:
Great job Gary, thanks.
We immediately notice that the top 50 systems (based on C2 ranking) are at least 1 year old,
which is somehow understandable.
The second thing we notice is that the maximum drawdown of some of these systems is very high, so the drawdown does not appear to influence the ranking that much.
One thing is for sure however, all these systems beat the average annual return of the S&P 500, as we can see.
Bye the way Gary, does your link update itself in real time?
Yes. Here is another few characters so I can meet the 20-character minimum…
Excellent, thanks again.
Interesting fact : According to your list the average drawdown of the C2 systems that managed to stay alive for more than 3 years is 46%.
Isn’t having a low DD very important?
Well, not really, apparently.
This list shows that the smallest drawdown is 5.3%, and yet the system associated with that small drawdown is at the bottom of the list as far as ranking is concerned (rank of that particular C2 system is 50).
So I guess other and more subtle ranking parameters are at play, and drawdown is not really one of them, or so it seems.
Do you think its possible to create a custom leader board that shows the ranking as to the # of subscribers a system has?
The number of subscribers, while important, has very limited use, because some C2 systems charge as much as $1,000 or more per month, while others charge only $20 or $10, or even zero in some cases, so it’s like comparing oranges and apples.
This one is probably more relevant for a strategy manager:
Lol, very nice, except we get some spurious “leaders” here who ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is actually paying $595/month to follow down a dead end. Must be spam subscribers getting a full scholarship, or… they long ago left but the account lingers on? Keep salt shakers handy for any formulaic listing, I guess.
Next to the Sub Fee column there is another column called “All Time”, what’s that exactly?
Thanks.
Cumulative return since beginning of strategy.
Oh, I see, thank you.
Is there a way to see how many subscribers “ares P2” has?
Dam. Theres really little interest for forex traders here
I only recently opened up an FX account to trade a C2 system. I had always thought that FX was not an option for U.S. residents, but C2 is integrated with at least one broker that does support U.S. customers (I went with IG). That said, there are not that many FX systems offered on C2 these days.
Nice! I noticed that aswell (Not many fx systems). If you don’t mind me asking, which fx system are you going to give a try?
