Free AutoTrade for Leaders

So, I have used BrokerTransmit and AutoTrade and have found many pros and cons to both. BrokerTransmit is great because it is free for the leader. However, I found BrokerTransmit very annoying because everytime I wanted to deposit or withdraw money from that account at Interactive Brokers it would mess with the strategy. If I add more money to the IB account and trade with it I end up trading with more than the C2 account. If I want to withdraw then I will be forced to trade with less than the C2 account or I would have to scale the strategy down which is a big pain and has many reasons to be avoided if possible.

AutoTrade is great because it puts you in the exact same boat as your subscribers. You essentially will receive orders at the same time as them etc. However, AutoTrade feels a bit like a wasted expense when you already are running the strategy. I don’t know how many people this would actually affect but if C2 wants to increase the number of TOS systems perhaps making AutoTrade free for trade leaders isn’t a bad idea. I am curious if there are really more expenses for C2 to allow you to AutoTrade vs BrokerTransmit. Regardless I think if C2 wants to increase the number of TOS systems, which I think would be a good thing, perhaps they should consider making TOS free via AutoTrade and not just BrokerTransmit.

To be clear I am just suggesting free autotrade for the leaders own strategies.

Charles,

When Autotrading was originally rolled out it was free to the trade leaders. Not only that, there were also discounts on the listing fees and you would get a larger cut of subscription fees.

Unfortunately, within a relatively short period of time, all of those benefits were ended and now the trade leaders have to pay for autotrading their own strategies.

I agree with you that autotrading by a trade leader should be free, especially because our listing fees were just doubled last year!

Thanks Jim. I didn’t know about that. I am relatively new to C2 so never knew that they were free in the past.

Charles, let me make sure I understand - if you add more and DON’T “end up trading with more”, does that cause a problem? I have added more to my Broker Transmit account mostly to give me a margin cushion but not funds I plan to trade on. Didn’t notice that anything happened on the C2 side. Thanks!

Correct, if you just add cash but don’t trade with it it won’t affect your account that is using BrokerTransmit. BrokerTransmit just takes trades into account.
