New C2 Compatible Order Entry Application

OpenThinking Systems, an independent software developer, has released a beta version of their new C2 Order Entry application for Windows computers. This is the official description:

C2 Order Entry is a free desktop application that allows trading system developers to enter orders into their Collective2 system. It provides an alternative to Collective2’s Web order entry screen. The application supports stocks, futures, and forex. The application has been created by an independent company, OpenThinking Systems, LLC.

System developers can learn more and download the software here:

I hope you find the tool to be useful.

Thanks,

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for making this available. I have a couple of questions.

Can orders be imported from a file, or do they have to be entered manually?

How are the orders submitted to C2? Is it possible to have some kind of trigger like when a stock’s price touches a specific level?

Thanks again,

Cliff

Hi Cliff,

Both items you mention will be implemented in a future release.

1. For the file import, which file formats are you interested in? Text, excel, custom, etc.?

2. To trigger an order based on a real-time price will require a quote source. Which quote provider do you use? IB, eSignal, etc.?

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I’m very glad to hear that.

1. For me, the best format would be a CSV or comma-delimited text file.

2. I currently get my quotes from Medved’s Quotetracker now owned by TD Ameritrade.

I’ll take a look at it.

Thanks,

Cliff

Ryan,

On some days my system generates as many as 100 limit orders. There’s no way they can all be entered with a broker. To make it easier to trade, I would like to be able to enter the signals into a program that could monitor the prices using Quotetracker and send them to C2 when the stock’s price reaches the limit price. I would also need to limit the total number of order submissions to about 15 or 16. If your program could do this it would help me very much.

Thanks,

Cliff

Matthew, am I right in assuming this would make Rainier easier to autotrade?

Hi Ryan, could you please send me a quote via private message for translating the order entry application into an iphone application?

Thanks,

Manuel

Hello all,

We’ve just release C2 Order Entry 0.9.4 Beta with some features that several users have asked for.

* Added option to import orders from an Interactive Brokers basket file.

* Added option to import orders from a CSV file.

* Symbol mapping to support importing order files generated from different quote data sources.

If you have suggestions for other file formats for importing, please let me know.

Hello Ryan,

I just installed your application, and I wonder about something strange.

Your application´s telling me that my trading system GermanFX has a buying power of "763.460,00€". The correct information would be $7.635. The same with open p/l.

So, it seems it messes up the 000 numbers and currency symbols.

Any idea? BTW, I´m running Win7.

Kind regards

Michael

A waste of my time.

Hello Michael,

Sorry for the late response - I didn’t notice your post until today. I was able to replicate the issue by changing my computer’s “region and language” settings to German format. The issue occurs when the computer’s localization is non-US. I’ve released an update to resolve the issue by making sure to display all currency in USD. The update can be downloaded here:

I do appreciate your feedback and for letting me know about this issue.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

thanks, your work is appreciated.

Well, I´ll get the update and give it a try. I´ll be back on this…

Regards

Michael
