A note on Tradar

Although I like the new feature, I am not sure all traders are aware that some or all of their trades are being published. Maybe it should be made in a way that once you turn it off, it stays off until further change. When we are putting in a quick trade, we have better things to do then thinking about : “Is my Tradar turned on or off??”

So once it changed, leave it in that position. What others think about it?

We can turn it off.

Actually, the feature you propose is already implemented.

Tradar starts as being OFF automatically. That is, when you enter a trade, Tradar is not checked.

However, if you check the ‘Make visible to Tradar’ link, then the box will stay checked until you specifically uncheck it. In other words, the status of whether it is on or off is ‘remembered’ by the system. And it is automatically off unless you make an effort to turn it on the first time.

For those of you with trading systems, in case the paragraph above is confusing, you can see this Tradar checkbox at the bottom of your screen when you enter a new trading signal.

Nope. First I thought I was an idiot, but I just went back and checked again. I turned it off then I didn’t do any trades, but changed the page. When I went back again, the sign was there, so it didn’t stay in the turned OFF position.

Whoops. You were right. Okay, now the status of whether you want to use Tradar ought to be saved from trade to trade (each trading system you own is tracked independently).

Please let me know if I am smoking crack and the thing still doesn’t work. Should be fixed, though…

Ok, now it is getting interesting. Since I have more systems, I came to this conclusions:

When I set up Tradar and go away and come back by using the back arrow on my webbrowser, it works fine and it stayed in the set up position.

But after setting up Tradar and going away, if I access the trading page by going there from somewhere else by clicking on Trade, it forgot the set up position.

I hope that helps.

Peter, the ‘state information’ (dweeby computer geek term) will not be saved unless you actually enter a trade. Then, theoretically, the information in the Tradar box will be saved.

It seems to work for me; would you mind trying it and letting me know whether the check-mark is saved next time you enter a trade?

Thanks! - MK
