The subj says it all - response has been too sporadic. Was unable to subscribe to a system this a.m. as well as having difficulty getting ITMs to even open.
Agreed-this is the second day in a row that the servers have been slow or non existant. Again there have been TB connection issues as a result… IF this site is to prove a valuable resource to ( fee paying!!) traders these fairly basic issues need to addressed very quickly!
And it should also be recognized that if we can’t get in, neither can the signal providers. I know of one signal provider who has had continuing difficulties over the last several weeks getting trade listings into C2 promptly.
As I suggested in a post elsewhere – it might be appropriate to downgrade the status of C2 to BETA until it can prove itself completely reliable.
For trading purposes, it should not be suffering downtimes that last more than seconds. It takes awhile to get databases and servers to work reliably, and it okay to acknowledge it is only working at BETA level … but when it claims to be functioning properly and it isn’t … it just sets up everyone for a host of ill feelings.
At approximately 9am this morning, my hosting company called me and asked if they could take their router offline for about 10 minutes while they replaced a card. They explained that if they didn’t do so, we might experience server slowness all day. (The card arrived from Cisco this A.M. to fix a router problem).
I decided that 10-minute downtime this morning would be a worthwhile trade-off, in exchange for a responsive server the rest of the day (and hereafter).
I agree with your concerns that the responsiveness these last 2 days has been abysmal. I am working with my hosting company to figure out ways to prevent this from happening in the future. One way, of course, is to find another hosting company. An alternative is to hire a second hosting company in another part of the country (one that uses another Internet backbone) - which might theoretically eliminate most downtime.
Like everything else, it’s a question of trade-offs: a huge expense, more administrative complications, etc. I’m not complaining; I’m merely pointing out that in business, like in life, you can’t just wave a magic wand to make everything okay. You need to invest time, money, and effort.
So: I’m working on it. I hear your complaints. I agree with them. I understand that, as members of C2, you don’t care about the reasons behind a server outage. You don’t care that it was the fault of the hosting company’s router, and not C2’s. You only care that the darn thing works. I understand that, and I will work to make sure these problems are reduced over time.
I’m hopeful that the hosting company has its act together today (September 21) and that the server will be responsive and always-up, for the entire day.
I want to let you know that I am working on this, and that it is a huge concern.

Mark:
I don’t know specifically which system vendor you are talking about, but I will address this in a very general way:
Be wary of signal providers who blame C2 for their poor performance. When there is a problem at C2, I fess up, and explain what happened, and the steps I am taking to fix it. There are no “secret problems” that are being hidden from you.
I can’t tell you how many times I have seen the following: a system vendor begins to enter losing trades; his equity graph takes a dive; a few subscribers leave… and suddenly the system vendor is telling his subscribers that it was all C2’s fault, that he has been unable to enter trades, etc.
I’m not suggesting that this complaint is always false. There have indeed been system outages. Yesterday was particularly serious, and I have posted elsewhere about what happened, and I’m working with the hosting company to prevent a recurrence.
Just be aware that blaming C2 for losing trades is a convenient excuse that is used far more frequently than is truly deserved.

Why not provide a “System Status Bulletin” and post this kind of info. so that everyone can check there before firing up any “un-informed” comments?
My experience in this site so far is fixed, with more positives than negatives. Like others have said, the idea is second to none. I also especially like the system profile webpage, very informative yet clean and clear. If someone put out a link and tell me that the track records is just “one click away”, I’d say Sir, one click is just too far away for this kind of info.
There are areas that can be improved, of cause. Let me just say if this site is “Yahoo” in trading community, then look out for “Google” to go after it.
If I have a choice, I think I’d rather be the Google than the Yahoo, Watson.
