Why do forex trades sometimes not go through?

Can someone tell why, when I put in a forex trade at market, about 30% of the time it doesn"t get triggered for an hour or more after I send it?

I would change broker. It should be filled instantly if the order is correct.

I think they have nno choice of broker here (on Collective). It also happens fairly regularly with market orders on futures. Maybe matthew can explain why.

Well it shouldn’t happen. So if it does, then it is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.



The next time you see this happen, please write me an email ASAP. Include: your system name, the trade you tried to place (and the approximate time), and why you think it did not behave correctly.



I will then look at the server logs to figure out what happened and if there is a software problem that needs attention.

Hi matthew

I placed a market trade to buy 7 forex contracts and it is still pending? Could you let me know why it does this all the time. It causes many problems and is very time consuming to keep checking. I sent a you private mail on another trade yesterday and never recieved a reply (that trade I was out about 5 pips beofre it finally triggered)

Robert: You are correct - this is very annoying and frustrating. The problem is that my forex quote feed sometimes crashes. I need to write a little piece of software which checks the feed and restarts it when it fails. I’ll work on that this weekend. Hopefully it will eliminate many of these problems. - MK

Still having the same problem at times Matthew (twice today).

It is really is a concern because I am trading my own account (as well)and this platofrm takes a lot of time to put in a trade. When I have to check and repeat the operation it becomes almost too much and puts me off using it.
